About me

I’m Cole. I grew up in Australia and live in Toorak, VIC, Australia. I also spend time in Canberra and California, where I bought a place in 2024.

I work as a Lead Machine Learning Engineer. Before that, I worked in cybersecurity, building tools and looking into vulnerabilities. I still make games, websites, and Discord bots in my own time.

I used to run a YouTube channel that reached 320,000 subscribers. These days I spend more time on engineering, although I still enjoy video editing and motion graphics.

My family has been in real estate and retail for over 200 years. I’d like to continue that with my siblings. I’m also interested in property, stocks, and crypto.

Featured Projects

Generative AI: LLM Fine-Tuning

I fine-tuned a language model with LoRA and PEFT for domain-specific writing. I built the training pipeline and automated checks to compare its output with the original model.

NLP Support Routing Bot

I built a transformer-based bot to sort support questions and route them to the right place. It runs through a REST API, with monitoring for its predictions.

Time-Series Sales Forecasting

I used a Temporal Fusion Transformer to forecast sales from point-of-sale data. I tracked the experiments in MLflow and connected the forecasts to inventory planning.

Image Recognition API

I built an image-classification API with TensorFlow and EfficientNet, then deployed it with Docker and Kubernetes. Its p95 response time was under 100 milliseconds in load tests.

Reinforcement Learning Agent

I trained a navigation agent with stable-baselines3 and OpenAI Gym. I tried PPO, SAC, and different rewards, and used Weights & Biases to follow the results.

Customer Churn Prediction

I built a customer-churn model with XGBoost and Random Forest. I used SHAP to explain the predictions and put the results into a Streamlit dashboard.
