About Me

I am Cole Everett, twenty four years old, born on the 5th of July. I grew up in Australia and hold both Australian citizenship and U.S. permanent residency, allowing me to live and work across both countries. I spent my early career in cybersecurity building tools and analysing vulnerabilities before stepping into my current role as a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at a private company.

I am based in Melbourne, with regular time in Canberra and California, where I purchased a property in 2024. Beyond engineering I work in motion graphics, video production, and Discord bot development. I previously ran a YouTube channel that grew beyond 320,000 subscribers before retiring to focus fully on AI and engineering.

My family has been involved in real estate and retail for over 200 years, a legacy that shaped my understanding of value and long term thinking. I intend to carry it forward while integrating modern technology. I also hold investments in cryptocurrency alongside property and equities.

Two Countries, One Life

I split my time between Hawthorn in Melbourne and California in the United States. I purchased my U.S. property in 2024 and hold permanent residency there. Canberra remains part of that rhythm as well, with my grandfather's home still feeling like a second base.

Current Focus

At the moment, much of my work centres on data collection, dataset organisation, and the foundational engineering that makes larger machine learning systems possible.

Gamer Turned Game Builder

I have been gaming since childhood, and over time that interest turned into building games myself. I also ran a YouTube channel, @aquall, that reached 320K subscribers before I stepped away to focus on engineering. Gaming became both a hobby and a serious creative outlet.

200 Years of Family Business

My family has worked in real estate and retail for more than two centuries. I grew up around property, negotiation, and the long-range thinking that comes with generational business. My future plan is to inherit the family business, run it alongside my siblings, and continue this legacy with discipline, innovation, and modern technology. I intend to take it to the next level for the next generation.

I fine-tuned a large language model for domain-specific content generation using LoRA and PEFT. The process involved building custom training pipelines and developing automated evaluation harnesses to benchmark output quality against established baselines.

NLP Support Routing Bot

A production-grade NLP system built with transformer models to classify and route customer support queries. It achieved significant accuracy improvements over rule-based legacy systems and was deployed as a REST API with real-time inference and full observability dashboards.

Time-Series Sales Forecasting

A deep learning forecasting system using a Temporal Fusion Transformer architecture to predict multi-horizon sales trends. The system was integrated with real-time POS data pipelines and used MLflow for full experiment tracking to drive inventory optimisation.

Image Recognition API
